Startup business becoming more popular and trustful environment for sponsor or investors. Startup investment in 2021 grew more than twofold compared to 2020. A startup is usually defined as a starting (group of) entrepreneur(s), but there are many different definitions of what makes a startup a startup. In the second half of 2021, the total value of investments reached approximately 43 billion euros.

Based on data from StartupBlink, the top country for startups in Europe was the UK with a total score of 28.72, followed by Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland. The rise in demand from large international investment firms like Tiger Global, Coatue, and SoftBank has been a key driver of growth for European startups. Balderton Capital, for example, secured around $1.3 billion for two new funds this year.
For the first half of 2021, European startups captured 20% of global capital. This is up from about 13% to 14% since the first half of 2019. By the countries we can see that, startups from Poland comparing with other European countries are not active international markets. Poland has spent close to €400 million on startups: €222 million from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, €110 million from the National Capital Fund, and €63 million from the National Centre for Research and Development. 50% of startups finance themselves from their own pockets. 30% of startups provide remuneration in the form of company shares. Rest of them getting investments from other investors. Significantly, 30% of Polish startups cooperate with corporations, 83% work mainly within the B2B model, and 46% of them do export activities.

The score ranges from 0 to 124.42 points, which is the maximum score awarded to the United States, the best ranked country in the world, according to the Startup Ecosystem Rankings 2021 report.
