Electronic Trade and Countries Growth Export.
Electronic circuit components are the world’s largest export as measured by international sales. Exports of electronic circuit components from all countries totaled US$1.015 trillion in 2021. That dollar amount equals 4.7% of the overall value of exported products which was $21.513 trillion. Such a high percentage indicates a relatively strong concentration for these main competitors within the worldwide electronic circuits industry. Among continents, suppliers in Asia sold the highest dollar worth of exported electronic circuit components on global markets during 2021 with shipments valued at $892.5 billion or 88% of the world’s total. Lower percentages are attributed to exporters in Europe (6%), North America (5.6%), Latin America (0.04%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (0.02%), and Oceania (0.01%) led by Australia and New Zealand.
China, Hong Kong, and the U.S. are at the front of the pack in producing electronics on a global level. Maintaining its reputation for producing inexpensive consumer goods in large quantities, China contributes heavily to the electronics sector, as this is one of the country's most prominent export categories. Trade in ICT goods grew slightly faster than merchandise trade and represented 13.4% of the total in 2017, down from the 16.1% high during the dot-com boom in 2000 but the highest in two years. By comparison, in 2017 machinery and transport equipment accounted for 37% and food for 8% of merchandise imports.
List of 5 countries that exported the highest value worth of electronic components during 2021. 1) Hong Kong $211.3 billion (20.8%), 2) Taiwan: $155.9 billion (15.4%), 3) China: $139.8 billion (13.8%), 4) Singapore: $112.6 billion (11.1%), 5) South Korea: $109.3 billion (10.8%). Developing countries also show a stronger preference for communication equipment over computers and peripherals, in line with the implementation of mobile-first strategies. On the other hand, the shopping basket is more balanced between the different ICT product categories in developed economies.
